Network on Climate Change
The adverse effect of global warming and Climate Change is now an
increasing reality for the people of Bangladesh, especially in the coastal
zone. Consulting with different reports published by WB, IPCC and CARE-RVCC
(Reducing Venerability to Climate Change) Project, one can easily
understand that the impact of Climate Change and Environmental hazards is
not a future issue; it is already here and is increasingly affecting the
people at wider scale in recent years. Regarding the situation and the
circumstances, three partner NGOs of Bread for the World (Germany), reached
an agreement to initiate a network, popularly known as Network on Climate
Change, Bangladesh (NCC, B).

Government of India website
on climate change
The Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India has launched
a website on climate change. The website provides easy access to
information related to climate change science, impacts, and international
negotiations. It highlights India's climate-friendly initiatives and
describes the country's preparations for its first National Communication.
With respect to CDM, the website lists the Government of India's interim

Tata Energy Research Institute, New
Delhi, India
TERI was formally established in 1974 with the purpose of tackling and
dealing with the immense and acute problems that mankind is likely to be
faced with in the years ahead on account of the gradual depletion of the
earth’s finite energy resources which are largely non-renewable and
on account of the existing methods of their use which are polluting Over
the years the Institute has developed a wider interpretation of this core
purpose and its application. Consequently, TERI has created an environment
that is enabling, dynamic and inspiring for the development of solutions to
global problems in the fields of energy, environment and current patterns
of development, which are largely unsustainable.

national institute for comprehensive research in the environmental sciences
and underwent a major reorganization on July 1, 1990 to elucidate the
adverse effects of environmental pollution on human health, to search for
countermeasures to these threats, to conduct more intensive research both
on global environmental changes and their effects, and on conservation of
the natural environment. The research functions of the new organization are
conducted within two project research divisions, six fundamental research
divisions and the Center for Global Environmental Research.

National Institute of Environmental
Research (NIER)
To address and answer to the environmental problems in a holistic way, the
NIER re-engineered the former media-oriented system into a cross-media
research system. For example, in the Environmental Diagnostics Research
Department, any environmental problems can be studied simultaneously by
different tools, which ultimately promotes cooperative research among the
divisions of different media. Furthermore, this functional grouping of the
system made it possible for the NIER to initiate research on global
environmental changes or indoor environment.
