  • Network on Climate Change
    The adverse effect of global warming and Climate Change is now an increasing reality for the people of Bangladesh, especially in the coastal zone. Consulting with different reports published by WB, IPCC and CARE-RVCC (Reducing Venerability to Climate Change) Project, one can easily understand that the impact of Climate Change and Environmental hazards is not a future issue; it is already here and is increasingly affecting the people at wider scale in recent years. Regarding the situation and the circumstances, three partner NGOs of Bread for the World (Germany), reached an agreement to initiate a network, popularly known as Network on Climate Change, Bangladesh (NCC, B).

  • Government of India website on climate change
    The Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India has launched a website on climate change. The website provides easy access to information related to climate change science, impacts, and international negotiations. It highlights India's climate-friendly initiatives and describes the country's preparations for its first National Communication. With respect to CDM, the website lists the Government of India's interim approval criteria, and projects endorsed for PCF and CERUPT. The site also has a directory of organisations working on climate change related issues in India, information about AIJ and GEF projects in the country, and events being organised in the run-up to COP-8.

    The Centre for Ecological Sciences was established at the Indian Institute of Science in 1982. The Centre has since established several active research programmes in Basic and Applied Ecology. Behaviour and Sociobiology, Conservation Biology, Biodiversity and Forest Dynamics, Ecodevelopment, Environmental History, Environmental Policy and Human Ecology have been the main themes of the research work carried out by the Centre.

It will enforce the spirit of people to take part in big step to save our Earth.

    To address and answer to the environmental problems in a holistic way, the NIER re-engineered the former media-oriented system into a cross-media research system. For example, in the Environmental Diagnostics Research Department, any environmental problems can be studied simultaneously by different tools, which ultimately promotes cooperative research among the divisions of different media. Furthermore, this functional grouping of the system made it possible for the NIER to initiate research on global environmental changes or indoor environment.
