IHDP seeks Urbanization experts for Scientific Steering Committee
The nomination process for new Scientific Steering Committee (SSC) members for the Urbanization and Global
Environmental Change Project (UGEC) is currently underway! UGEC activities are overseen and organized by an
international SSC who represent a broad spectrum of disciplines and geographic regions, and are comprised of
both mid-career and senior researchers. Researchers who serve on the UGEC SSC will do so for a period of 3 years,
with the potential for renewal of one additional term.

The Scientific Committee of the International Human Dimensions Programme on Global Environmental Change (IHDP)
is looking for three new members. The ideal candidates have a scientific background in either anthropology,
behavioural sciences, humanities or sociology, and should be willing to start in 2013. The IHDP Scientific
Committee (SC) represents a broad spectrum of scientific disciplines, professional backgrounds and nationalities.
It develops and prioritizes plans for the Programme, guides implementation and supports the publication and
dissemination of results.

Economies and Developing Countries

Following the successful ICAP Summer Schools held in previous years in Berlin, the Hague, Beijing, and Madrid,
the course is designed for 25 to 30 carefully selected policy makers and other stakeholders from the

trading as an instrument to mitigate greenhouse gases, and build capacity on the technical design and
