The task of Workpackage 1 is to provide a concise overview of IST aspects of recent selected foresight studies from European countries, the United States, and Pacific Rim countries with a view on identifying European IST priorities. Beside covering recent and particularly important foresight studies at the national level, information will also be provided on regional and industrial foresight activities and other foresight-like activities, such as those related to the eEurope and eEurope+ initiatives.

A first synthesis report on eight national foresight studies has already been produced and is available on this web site. A second report, focusing more on industry-oriented studies and regional foresight and updating findings on national studies will be available toward the end of the project.

Case studies on individual foresight projects with particular focus on information society technologies will be made available on a regular basis.
