Climate Change Risks & Opportunities: Learning from the Leaders

Conference Objectives
The leading conference objectives are:
- to bring the leaders of the corporate, financial and legal sectors together with some of the world's foremost experts on climate change policy to discuss the legal and practical implications of the problem for U.S. businesses;
- to consider the experience of the major companies that have taken early action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions; and
- to discuss pragmatic steps companies can take to develop an effective and profitable strategy for contributing to climate change mitigation.
Conference Agenda
The conference will run from 12:30 pm on Thursday, January 13th through 5:30 pm on Friday, January 14th, 2005.
The conference will be divided into three blocks:
- Session 1: Expert Briefings on the scientific basis for climate change mitigation and emerging policy frameworks;
- Session 2: Corporate Spotlight on the business case for action on climate change and how leading companies have responded;
- Session 3: Interactive Workshops with industry leaders and policymakers to assist companies with integrating climate change into their strategic planning.

- Companies interested in addressing climate change risks & opportunities in a strategic way, based on practical experiences;
- Corporate legal and management advisors, who need to integrate climate change considerations into their advisory services;
- Regulators who want to learn about corporate best practice and innovative approaches of leading companies;
